My story

I’m 57 years old and, after everything I’ve been through, I’ve decided to make the most of whatever time I have left by doing as much as I possibly can. I spent 30 years working as a bingo caller, but my life took a dramatic turn when my weight reached over 50 stone and my health was in serious danger. Back in 2005 I appeared on ITV’s This Morning, where I began an incredible journey that saw me lose over 35 stone and completely turn my life around. What followed were things I never thought possible – I completed the Great North Run nine times, walked Coast to Coast across England, and even ran the London Marathon. Over the years I’ve faced ups and downs, including gaining weight again and then fighting to lose it once more, but that’s the reality of my journey and something I’ve always tried to be honest about. Today I’ve started a new chapter working in the travel industry, and I’ve made a decision that it’s now or never when it comes to seeing the world. I’m also a published author, writer and content creator, sharing my experiences in the hope of inspiring others to believe that it’s never too late to change your life. This travel channel is my personal project — a space where I can create videos I genuinely enjoy, document my adventures, and hopefully encourage others to get out there and live their own lives a little more fully.
